Revolution Medicines' pancreatic cancer drug daraxonrasib, sold as Rasonque, generated $198 million in U.S. sales during its first five weeks after approval, the company said Wednesday evening, according to STAT. The disclosure came as part of the company's third-quarter earnings announcement. The company said more than 5,000 patients have been treated with the pan-RAS inhibitor since the U.S. approval. STAT described the commercial debut as "eye-popping and jaw-dropping".

Chief Commercial Officer Anthony Mancini said on the earnings call, "The U.S. launch of Rasonque is off to a strong start". STAT called that "perhaps the understatement of the year in commercial biotech".

The sales figure was nearly twice the highest projections from investors before the third-quarter earnings report, according to STAT. The publication reported that investors are re-evaluating their forecasts for what lies ahead. STAT noted that while it is still early, the launch could rank among the best cancer drug debuts ever.
